The programme of TERRE MARINE is structured in educational outings on board the sea explorer ship to allow everybody to discover, understand and learn about marine life, build a maritime culture and train themselves to practice sailing, understand the wind and the surrounding elements.
Departure : Cap d’Agde all the year or other port (except July/August).
TERRE MARINE is a LOGISTIC, SCIENTIFIC AND DIDACTIC SUPPORT for an active Education.
LIVING SCIENCE The educational device developed aboard the Sea Explorer training ship consists of RESOURCE WORKSHOPS allowing the implementation of the investigation process to observe, compare, determine, deduce, record fingerprints, make assumptions, proceed to a reconstruction, experiment, collect and analyse data.
and MEDITERRANEAN WILDLIFE EDUCATION BASED ON THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ANCHORED BEHAVIORS IN AN APPROACH TO THE INVESTIGATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES .
ACTIVITIES. A consultation work Terre Marine-Enseignants refines the project with the possibility of setting up one or more sessions in class upstream and downstream of the outing at sea.
THE WORKSHOPS allow students to better understand the importance of life in the seas and oceans, and to understand the impact of human activities on marine biodiversity, to learn about sailing and navigation.
THE BOAT SEA EXPLORER welcomes groups (students, teachers and accompanying persons) all year round depending on availability of the boat. Whatever the weather, the programme takes place. 40 m2 of the boat are covered with large spaces to sit while maintaining the view of the environment without embarrassment or risk of seasickness.
A PARTICIPATORY SCIENCE programme can be developed to:
Value the collection work done by the students.
Raise awareness, educate for citizenship.
Give meaning to the boat trips.
Allow to take action around issues related to marine life.
CROSS-CUTTING OBJECTIVES
To know the sea, the marine life by the experience of an educational exit. Benefit from living, active and participatory environmental education and sustainable development.
Love the marine environment, discover, learn to sail and navigate.
Understand phenomena due to acoustic and organic pollution (micro-waste) in the Mediterranean and in the oceans.
